As I peer outside my hotel window in the heart of Quezon City, I see a haze of the sprawling city located at the corner of the main thoroughfare EDSA and North Avenue. It is 7:43 am. An ice storage facility is burning to the left of my picture window. It’s a large effing cloud of black smoke.  It serves both as a reminder of what I’m up against today and what has transpired yesterday and the night before to bring about this covered-up arson from the same people protecting the so-called sitting government which is by now a sitting lame duck because of its record of ineffectivity, blatant corruption and outward policy of trying to protect only its family, or tribe as they call it…the tribe of the Kankanaey of North Eastern La Union and South Eastern Ilocos Sur. 

Ang Bagong Pilipinas, their newest platform for National Progress shown on its government-owned TV Station PTV 4 is nothing but a program to alleviate not the lowliest and downtrodden, the ones left behind by progress and technology. It is a program to serve their new leader, the heir apparent  to Imelda Marcos’ throne, Sandro Araneta-Marcos, probably named after the famous Renaissance painter Boticelli whose modified replica painting of Imelda Marcos as The Venus hanged in Malacañang Palace during the old Marcoses heyday. I don’t know. Maybe it still hangs somewhere in the many properties they have built out of their accumulated ill-gotten wealth. I’m sure it still does. But what’s more certain is it pretty much stuck in the psyche of Imelda’s three children, the immediate benefactor of their so-called wealth.

If my Platform is Harry Potter’s magical number 9 and 3/4 which I had the chance to discover and buy at a Japanese discount outlet Minisou yesterday, then this is their Platform. I not only appreciate the movies I watch for my leisure. I also live them to appreciate them more. 

The Marcoses have always had a platform of self-delusion. Mine is pure magic.

Oh boy!   It's 8:24 am MLA time and the rains have been cascading non-stop since early this morning. As a matter of fact, we have been issued a Red Alert Warning by the NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council) for the current weather conditions. That means that we are experiencing severe, extreme and excessive weather and that we are advised to stay home as classes in private schools as well as attendances in government offices have been cancelled. And I thought the Orange Alert yesterday was already intense as I was scrambling to get home from the gym at 10 am when there was a sudden downpour, to try to avoid our subdivision's accumulation of creek water possibly resulting in a mini street flood and my car being stranded in traffic. Yikes! 😱 Anyway, this present scenario, a quick look at the local news and me being stranded at home now has given me time to think and blog about it...for what's a girl to do? Hello Hello!

  J une brings showers, flowers and beauty all around us. The name means youth from Latin juvenis , young people. As of today June 4, I think I have seen 4-5 free movies in the regular theaters as part of my Senior Citizen perks. Two of them really are for children, IF and Garfield...and I loved them both.  I thought Garfield won't be a disappointment to watch for its cuteness based on the books but when we were introduced to Vic his estranged father  (spoiler alert) , we all saw a cuter fatter cat than Garfield himself, the ultimate lazy fat sarcastic cat. Never mind the storyline at first I thought. The 3D animation and wisecracks were good enough to grab our collective attention, adults and children alike especially if you're already familiar with the strip. Now if I wanted more immersion, maybe I'll plan on watching it again next week as I missed on the nitty-gritty of the criminal world they find themselves embroiled in not that any of it is complicated. I have no more platform left to vent out my feelings for the ☘️ month 🌼 and days that just passed and will come, except this one☝️so forget about my artworks for a while. Let’s just do some serious blogging. May is my birthday month. 20 is my birthday and on Monday the 20th of May this year, I will turn 60 and a Senior Citizen of the world as a matter of fact! 🍃I’m trying to figure how this one goes but just like I said, it’s just a matter of fact. 🍁 I don’t feel any different or special or even older except that I’ve accepted the days that keep marching by to be days that lead to substance, days that count, days that lead to acceptance and productivity…to happiness, fulfilment and all gaining momentum for me to become a better me; 🌞 things that were so alien to me just a couple of years ago 🐦‍🔥.
