Ayala’s BPI

Give Credit where Credit is due. Ayala of BPI.

Seldom do I post things about money or about the institutions providing money service to the people. In fact, I don’t care about the bigwigs or fat cats in society. Both my father and mother (humble government employees and both lawyers) taught us to be deeply respectful of being honest especially with using our names. As long as we don’t use our education and position in society to be advantageous of others and treat each other as fairly as we can leaning towards kindness to those in need, we are doing our duty as good citizens of the land and are essentially well off.

I thought I was Bank of the Philippine Island’s Preferred Customer, the bank I am currently enrolled in with both an SA and a Credit Card which I pay for in full amount after every month of transactions. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’re giving the service I am deserving of. I contacted a fraudulent online transaction with a Dublin Tiktok listed in my transactions last December 30 which I am obviously not a subscriber of. I complained saying I did not make this transaction but was linked to an online purchase I made via PayPal. BPI’s final email dispute says I made an authenticated transaction with this entity by giving them  an authorized one time password (OTP) and other credit card details (after I was sent an SMS or text from their Bank). Do they know how thwarted this statement is? How was I supposed to know I received a bogus text when it clearly stated it came from BPI?

If BPI’s Division for answering fraudulent accounts/transactions always ends with them telling their clients that it was the clients’ fault for answering a text message coming from them and punching in a unique OTP and simply giving us a basic warning that we shouldn’t do this if it didn’t come from them, then I am not at all satisfied with their service or response. This happens everyday with ordinary clients and I can imagine the huge amount BPI gets away with by being indifferent and uninterested with these cases of online frauds and scams.

I am just putting this out there and as determined as BPI is uncaringly closing my case, unfortunately for them, I am just as determined to tell them they’re doing a disservice to their clients and may the entire world know about it. After all, we live in one big Global Community.
