Fisherman Step by Step

On a brown-colored textured paper, I sketch out the figure. It's kind of faint but I also sketched in the fibonacci spiral as guideline with the smallest square leading to his right eye. Then I carefully add in the face with his peculiar expression... Now the red shirt...I did this amazingly for 3 hrs. straight. The generally calm aquatic sea in the background... With the hand and fishing rod done, here is the finished painting of "Fisherman", a semi-finalist winner of the 1st Philippine National Pastel Competition held today, Oct. 21.
