2019 Paintings by Ado

Image
Acrylic 1st group   Acrylic 2nd group  Watercolors Oil and Soft Pastels, Some Watercolors and Ink 2019 has been a year filled with blessings in art despite a slow start early this year when our roof was being renovated and my studio was in disarray. Some of my paintings shown here have been purchased by former classmates/friends and only remain as digital photos. I wish to sell more this coming 2020 as I am wont to do. I would like to extend my special thanks to The Art Sherpa for showing me the way in art appreciation and execution as many of my acrylics are inspired by her designs.

Old Blue Door with Stucco Step by Step

Image
A ground of yellow ochre  Some ultramarine blue and red... Some ultramarine blue and red and white for steps and a dark yellow door jamb, a little patina for the walls with darker yellows and hooker's green. Patina'd the door and window some more and added cement markers on the walls for bricks and stucco later. Also darkened the surroundings of the door and window. Created planks for the door and colored it weathered blue. Patina'd the door jamb Made the window divisions and then added the bricks Added the metals on the door, studs and hinge and doorknob. This is supposed to be finished except for the stucco'd wall. I need to buy stucco. Finally "stuccoed" the wall with Vallejo Ground Texture Acrylic   Grey Sand. Ta-Dah! Thanks once again to the Art Sherpa!

The Art Sherpa

Image
At some point in my life although I graduated from Fine Arts in 1985, I never thought I would consider art as my personal occupation having no proper mentor and someone who’s good at explaining things to me. I didn’t like what I was doing and nobody appreciated it as well. I just didn’t want to have anything to do with it. I considered doing art as a pretty useless endeavour. My mind became a busy mess every time I arted. Fast forward to 2015 when I was faced with unemployment and I had to take an Art Workshop. I was looking for a way to revive my shelved talent so I can earn some money with it.  I did the basics and was outstanding in it, but when the time came for the acrylic and oil modules, I felt I needed more guidance than the teacher was providing us. I looked to the internet for inspiration and tutorials. Today, nobody inspires me in doing art more than the Art Sherpa . To show my gratitude on our 2nd year friendversary on Facebook, I did another watercolor painting of her on

Laughing Pepper Step by Step

Burnt umber ground.  Reds blacks and oranges for the smile.  Adding the green stem for his top.  A little cyan & white bg treatment. The seeds are its teeth. Almost done. Pareidolia is what's referred to here, the imagined perception of a pattern or meaning where it does not actually exist,  as in considering the moon to have human features. Pic source: Twitter. Laughing Pepper aka my still life painting that can't keep still.
