For those who may give an iota of concern, read on…

I’m not entirely well. I suffer from frequent headaches probably due to lack of solid deep sleep for a couple of months or even years now and many adjustments I am making in my life (like simply loving life for the first time in a long time), not entirely discounting wrong prescription lenses, I suspect. I don’t blame anyone for this. So when a disturbing person comes my way, I have to recognise it immediately and take the necessary precautions to save or defend myself. I simply couldn’t take additional and/or unnecessary headaches in my life right now or in the days to come. Presumptiveness or an arrogant attitude is not a quality I particularly like in others. I think it’s a bad attitude, regardless of whether you’re a competent/fairly intelligent person or not. With that observation, I hope people will see it, my uncommon reactions ie, for what they are…not as a way of seeking attention but more of a way of self-preservation.  That said, I have a lot of lifework to be done in the ho

Fruit Vendor Step by Step

Image
The beginnings of another fruit vendor painting prompted by  my attraction to the Avocado Vendor I did so many months ago &  still displayed in the dining room area (because it hasn't been sold). Maybe I’ll give that one a makeover soon. Oh boy, I miss painting with acrylics! After adjusting the woman’s face, going for the bananas 🍌, the papaya and the watermelon 🍉. I’m hoping this one will turn out really fruity and wholesome, whatever that means. Adding some dragonfruit, mangosteen, and orange grounds. Defining volume. A wip is still a wip, even when there's no one weeping there. Shelved and finally finished. Only this May 17, 2023.  As they say, better late than never.

Wasserende Am Dach (Water End on the Roof) Step by Step

Image
Chalk outlines done on the white wall just above the roof faucet and a hubbub of  some oranges, yellow and turquoise washes. Getting a little more colourful here. There was method to the madness applied: for instance, similar colors were painted at the same time.  Despite its seemingly chaotic composition, the piece has some rhythm to it. Some black outlines, convinced that the hard part has been covered.  Outlines done and with the very unusual name printed below my roof masterpiece. It’s not entirely finished without its title on the top, right? Actually now I’m not so sure if it’s finished at all.  I see so many white spaces waiting to be filled. 🤔 This is what it looks like in relation to the other wall paintings.  Notice it’s conspicuously placed just above the roof faucet. Very apropos. --------------------------------------- So who is Hundertwasser and what is he famous for? Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Austrian, 1928–2000) was a painter, printmaker, and architect best known
