Obelix Step by Step

Image
After chalking in the figure, I used some leftover paint to try  and cover the canvas as much as I could  using a palette knife for an impasto or textured effect later on. Now trying to be true to the reference material... with the light blues for Obelix's pants and different shades of  green for the grasses and ochre for the pathway. Finetuning grass and shoes and adding an obelisk in the distance. Finetuning Obelix's fleshtones. Some outlines and the green riveted belt. The face that launched a thousand qua? Outlines done and obelisk finalized. Signed but still without an inscription on the obelisk. Inscription done. A message for the ongoing senseless war  in Ukraine perhaps? February 27.
