  So today,    I had the rare opportunity to watch a very important Filipino Movie about Manuel L. Quezon for which this City where I live is named after. Off the bat, I have to say I already liked the movie even before I went inside the theater. After all, it's not everyday that you get to see Filipino movies invested deeply into their own psyche as Filipinos. And what timing it has, with all the political ruckus we're currently having! Filipinos undoubtedly love their "politics"! But once you talk about "psyche", there surely will be some disputes along the way with the first one being Quezon's own grandson Ricky Avanceña NOT liking the biopic at all! Once upon a bleak time in the archipelagic Philippines, where a decent means of communication between natives is virtually unheard of (they can only communicate by shouting); a boy was born in poverty by a labandera who got fucked by a wayward American Soldier who was just visiting the islands, not having real purpose in life. A few weeks ago on March 11, former President of the Philippines Rodrigo Roa Duterte (2016-2022) coming home from an unexpected visit to Hong Kong was detained at Villamor Airbase, issued an arrest warrant by the InterPol (International Police) and then chartered to The Hague Netherlands, where he will be tried for Crimes Against Humanity at the International Criminal Court better known as the ICC. The current Mayor of Quezon City Joy Belmonte certainly has her hands full. With so many projects to pursue and so many responsibilities both present and in the offing, this may be her biggest project to date...our resident "squatters' area" within our sacred subdivision. But do you know, despite its mostly negative messages, it's highly engaging for me because the TV News thinks about ME. Lately, I've been thinking about the latest US Government Turnover to its new set of officials, mostly President Trump and Richest Contributor/Official, unqualified tech guy Elon Musk. If it's not apparent to you, they're out to ruin the world as we know it...with their rash decisions on most anything. Just watch the evening news. As I peer outside my hotel window in the heart of Quezon City, I see a haze of the sprawling city located at the corner of the main thoroughfare EDSA and North Avenue. It is 7:43 am. An ice storage facility is burning to the left of my picture window.
